Hazard / Symptom
Hazard	Very toxic by inhalation, in contact with skin and if swallowed. Contact with acids liberates very toxic gas.
After eye contact	irritant effect After inhalation: dyspnoea , mucosal irritations , absorption
After skin contact	absorption Lethal effect after absorption. Decomposition of the substance with tissue moisture. Effect of the decomposition products. Highly toxic.
After swallowing	nausea , vomiting , absorption
Systemic effects	dyspnoea , respiratory paralysis , unconsciousness , cardiovascular disorders
The following applies to cyanogen compounds/ nitriles in general	utmost caution! Release of hydrocyanic acid is possible - blockade of cellular respiration. Cardiovascular disorders, dyspnoea, unconsciousness.

Protective equipments / General working measures

Keep locked up and out of reach of children. Keep container tightly closed. After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of water. Do not empty into drains. In case of accident or if you feel unwell, seek medical advice immediately (show the label where possible).

Accidental release measures / Fire-fighting measures
Person-related precautionary measures	Avoid inhalation of dusts in all circumstances.
Environmental-protection measures	Do not allow to enter sewerage system.
Procedures for cleaning / absorption	Carefully take up dry. Forward for disposal. Clean up affected area.
Suitable extinguishing media	CO₂, powder. Fire extinguisher: powder , carbon dioxide
Extinguishing media not to be used	water

First aid

After skin contact	wash off with plenty of water. Remove contaminated clothing.
After eye contact	rinse out with plenty of water with the eyelid held wide open.
After swallowing	if victim is still conscious, make him drink plenty of water, induce vomiting, administer activated charcoal (20 - 40 g in 10% slurry). Immediately summon doctor.
Additional informations	General information: Rapid action is called for. First-aid personnel: ensure self-protection! Immediately summon doctor (mentioning hydrocyanic acid poisoning). If breathing stops: immediately apply mechanical ventilation, if necessary also oxygen. Instructions for the doctor: Keep antidotes ready ( sodium thiosulfate , dimethylaminophenol , Cobalt-EDTA )
